I'm in the mood for another meme, so here we go ... the book meme! (taken from
leviathans_moon )
Day 01 – A book series you wish had gone on longer OR a book series you wish would just freaking end already (or both!)
I'm going with the one I wish would end already: the "Inheritance Cycle" by Christopher Paolini. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but -- oh wonder -- the guy thought he could wring a bit more money out of this and won't stop writing. I know some of you like his books, but I think they're some of the worst in recent years. He stole from all four corners of fantasy literature, has a hero who's even dumber than Nibelungen's Siegfried (who, in my opinion, isn't the sharpest tool in the box anyway) and don't get me started on how he accuses his readers of ripping of his ideas. Pot calling kettle, anyone? The only characters I even remotely enjoyed in the books were the dwarf, the dragon, and the anti-hero.
Oh, and if Clive Cussler would please stop writing obnoxious Dirk Pitt-novels I'd be a happy camper as well.
( the schedule for the next 29 days )
PS: For everybody who only reads this through his/her flist, I've got a new header.
